Sex Glossary For Lovers And Others: Sex Words And Terms Every Adult Should Know – Sexual Definitions Letter A!

Today I want you to take a look at definitions and meanings for words and terms relating to sexuality. This glossary briefly explains some slang, anatomical, or sexual words borrowed from other languages. There are also the definitions of some sexual fetishes, sex toys, people’s sexual traits and practices in this list. Of course, some of the definitions are simplified and intended for a general audience, and for general information purposes only. Now check out the list below! You might know most of these words, terms and things, but maybe there is also new stuff to be learned and tried out ;)
Sexicon for lovers and others: LETTER A
A
ASEXUALITY: in its broadest sense, describes lack of sexual attraction, or interest in or desire for sex. Sometimes, it is considered a lack of a sexual orientation. Some asexuals do have sex.
APHRODISIACS: all kinds of magic substances, foods, activities, scents and herbs thought to enhance sexual desire and influence erotic life of lovers. Named after Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of sexual love and sensuality, an aphrodisiac is anything that turns you on. The most powerful of aphrodisiacs are those influencing our physiological and psychological state.
ACORN: a slang term referring to the glans of the penis, deriving from Latin. The Latin word for an acorn – the seed of an oak tree – is glans. Note the similarity between an acorn in its ‘cup’ and a phallus with the foreskin either retracted or circumcised. Commonly used to identify circumcision-related material.
ABSTINENCE: the practice of voluntarily refraining from some or all aspects of sexual activity. Some individuals define abstinence in terms of refraining from penile-vaginal intercourse; others define the word to exclude a wider range of sexual activities. Sexual without intercourse or sexual alternative to intercourse is outercouse which may include kissing, massage, masturbation, petting, oral sex and the use of stimulating devices such as vibrators. For some individuals, sexual abstinence is a lifestyle choice.
ADULT SPANKING: sex play, the act of spanking another person for the sexual gratification of either or both parties. Adult spanking is the act is between two consenting adults. Adults engage in the activity for several different reasons. The most common is simply playful spanking amongst people engaging in other intimate activities. People who require spanking to be a part of their sexual play are considered spanking fetishists. Types of adult spankings can be classified as: sexual punishment, sensual spanking, therapeutic spanking, as well as the use of spanking sessions in BDSM plays.
AFTERPLAY: caressing, kissing, cuddling, sensual and erotic interaction that occurs after lovemaking and orgasm
AC-DC: or A.C.-D.C. / AC/DC stands for bisexual or bisexuality. This modern coinage derives from comparing sexual current, alternating between homosexuality and heterosexuality. Alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC).
ANORGASMIA: the term derived from the Greek ‘an’ (without, not), the Greek ‘orgasmos’ (swell) and the Greek and Latin ‘ia’ (a suffix used in the names of ailments). Also known as orgasmic disorder, orgasmic dysfunction, and orgasmic inhibition. Anorgasmia is failure to achieve orgasm during sex. It can result from many causes such as anxiety, stress, fatigue, worry, guilt, fear of painful intercourse, fear of pregnancy, the dislike of a partner, the dislike of a setting, the use of alcohol, etc. In women, this problem is also referred to as “frigidity”, or female orgasmic dysfunction. There are two major types of anorgasmia: primary anorgasmia – when a person has never had an orgasm by any method, including masturbation, and secondary anorgasmia – when a person has had orgasms previously but is not having them currently.
ANAL BEADS: a type of sex toy consisting of several small balls attached together by a piece of nylon cord or other type of strong rope-like material, designed for anal play. Anal beads are commonly made of silicone, plastic, rubber, glass or metal and end with a ring or similar handle designed for pulling. The purpose of this ring is to prevent the sex toy from becoming fully lodged in the rectum, as well as to facilitate its removal. There are vibrating anal beads designed for extra stimulation!
ANAL BLEACHING: anal bleaching, or lightening, is the practice of bleaching the pigmentation of the skin of medium- to light-skinned people around the anus. Some white people have some degree of darker pigmentation of the skin immediately around the anus, which can be mistaken for poor personal hygiene. Bleaching is used mostly for cosmetic purposes to make the skin of the anal opening more uniform with the surrounding area. Originally, anal and vaginal lightening was discovered by adult film stars, erotic dancers, models, and others who were “exposed” and wanted to beautify their most intimate body areas.
ANILINGUS: the erotic stimulation of a sexual partner’s anus with one’s tongue, oral anal sex. From anus + lingus (‘to lick’ from Latin). Sometimes referred to as “rimming”.
AXILLARY INTERCOURSE: a form of outercourse or non-penetrative sex in which a man places his penis under the armpit of his woman to stimulate himself!
AGE OF CONSENT: it is the legal age at which a person may consent to sexual intercourse or marriage without parental consent
AREOLA: It is the darkened, circular area of skin surrounding the nipple of the breast
AU NATUREL: french for in-the-natural state; naked
APHRODISM: the desire in some women to excite men’s passion in order to torment them
AUTOEROTICISM: refers to the practice fulfilling one’s own sexual needs without a partner. The most common form of autoeroticism is masturbation. Autofellatio, the act of sucking one’s own penis, is less common, while autocunnilingus, oral stimulation of the female genitals, is even less common. Autosexual behavior is considered to be a normal part of human development, when children able to sexually stimulate themselves. Many people also use dildos, vibrators, fleshlights, and other sex toys alone.
AUTOFELLATIO: it is the act of oral stimulation of one’s own penis as a form of masturbation
AUTOCUNNILINGUS: is a sex act in which a woman performs oral sex on herself, a form of masturbation. While autofellatio is well-documented, there is much dispute as to whether autocunnilingus is possible and there is no citable and provable evidence. Numerous sources say that it is possible but very rare.
AUTOSEXUALITY: autosexuality or autoeroticism is the sexual stimulation of, or sexual desire toward, one’s own body. The most common autoerotic practice is masturbation. However, sexual arousal or orgasm during sleep can also be considered a form of autoeroticism. It is also used to describe someone who desires masturbation. over partnered sex.
ANDROGYNOUS: a term derived from the Greek words ανήρ (anér, meaning man) and γυνή (gyné, meaning woman), the quality of possessing both masculine and feminine traits and/or exhibiting behaviors that were traditionally considered as only either masculine or feminine. Being both male and female; hermaphroditic, having both masculine and feminine characteristics, having an ambiguous sexual identity, being neither clearly masculine nor clearly feminine in appearance. Many androgynes identify as being mentally “between” woman and man, or as entirely genderless. They may also use the term “ambigender” to describe themselves.
AROUND THE WORLD: to kiss and lick the entire body of a partner. The shorter version, known as “halfway-around-the-world”, consists in kissing and licking the genitals and anal area prior to cunnilingus, blowjob or intercourse.
